Holy needles batman.....

Okay....so the big day came when alllll my meds arrived at my house. Now, I must warn everyone that I even have a few meds LESS than other people. I will say, seeing it all laid out was pretty overwhelming and added a whole new reality to the whole situation. I had mixed emotions of excitement to get started but also that relentless underlying fear of possible failure.

My first medication will be Lupron. Lupron suppresses the ovaries and helps your body hold all your eggs in and not ovulate during stimulation. I had my first Lupron injection this morning. My husband was not nearly as nervous about giving it as I was to receive it. The Lupron injection is done subcutaneously (which means barely under the skin, like an insulin shot). I could hardly feel a thing! What a relief!! I will continue my Lupron each morning for about 2 weeks and also keep taking my birth control pills.

Speaking of birth control pills.... I havent taken BC in a long time and I forgot what it is like to be a total emotional wreck. I am ready to be OFF of these. Side effects from the Lupron are supposedly similar to those of menopause but since it was only my first injection this morning, I am not feeling any side effects yet. Here's to a week of painless injections....
